Local trout lake Ynysyfro reservoir re-opens!!

Some good news in the South Wales area  for trout anglers!

NRFFA is happy to announce that Ynysyfro reservoir, Newport, will re-open for fishing for members only on Saturday the 8th of October at 8am (no cars to enter the car park until 7.30am).

Only the bottom reservoir can be fished for the time being and the first weekend is restricted to members only. Non-members can fish from Monday the 10th of October. Existing members from the 2020/21 season will be members until the end of the day on the day on the 31st December 2022.

If persons wish to join before the new season in 2023, the membership will only run until the end of the day on the 31/12/22 and the cost is £10 joining fee plus £25.

Season ticket holders from the 2020/21 season will be able to use this season ticket until the end of the day on the 31/12/22 and can take a maximum of 35 fish (max of 2 per visit)

Day tickets are £10 for members and £17 for non-members. No junior tickets will be issued as it is expected that under 17s will fish with a senior and share their ticket.

PLEASE NOTE that no BACS will be available and you must pay by cheque or cash at the reservoir using high denomination currency (no ‘shrapnel’, pound coins or notes only).

Please take care travelling down the lane due to horses and keep noise to a minimum because of our neighbours. Ynysyfro can provide some excellent fishing and we as anglers must ensure we look after it.

Please make yourself familiar with the regulations and ensure you stop fishing when you kill your second fish and abide to the 8 fish catch limit.
