Kinetic X5 Wader Review
A relatively new brand on the UK market, Kinetic offer quality products, which are designed by Scandinavian anglers, primarily for sea trout fishing in the sea and rivers. The brand is a sister to Westin, well known for their quality rods and lures.
I have been using the Kinetic X5 wader for a couple of months now, and I must say I am seriously impressed with them, so I thought a review was in order.
The wader has actually been designed for tough use in the sea, for all seasons. From the waist down they are seriously thick, at 5 layers. This has made them very durable, especially on the rivers I fish in South Wales, which are overgrown with brambles. I was surprised to find that the breathability isn't compromised - the waders felt comfortable and did not hold condensation even after some strenuous walking.
I have also been using them for bass fishing lure sessions in West Wales this autumn, and the waders are holding up really well despite me scrambling all day over sharp rocks covered in baracles and limpets.
A nice touch is the drawstring toggle at the wader top, designed to keep splashing from waves out when wading in the sea or fishing off rock marks. It also helps prevent rain entering if you have tucked your jacket into the wader for extra deep wading.
The zipped exterior pockets are well designed, with two fleece lined hand warmers, plus an interior flip out pocket perfect for a phone or car keys. The straps and buckles are really solid, with a free wading belt supplied.
The waders are fairly generous in size, so worth checking the size chart on our website before you buy.
All-in-all, I have a feeling that these Kinetic X5 waders should prove to be sturdy enough to last several seasons of heavy use, this review I hope will give you an idea of just how good they are for the money. I've alos just invested in a pair of Kinetic Rock-Gaiter boots, as they seem very sturdy and good value.

UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: Over a year later my Kinetic X5's are still going! This includeds a hammering on a saltwater fishing trip to Denmark, multiple bass fishing trips off the West Wales coasts and dozens of river fishing sessions in South Wales, including grayling fishing through the winter and a full trout season.
